CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Research and Program Assistant (Education Reform)

Period:                                   01 July 2023 to December 31, 2023 (6 months initial appointment, subject to extension)

Position Title:                      Research and Program Assistant (Education Reform)

Department/Office:            Ateneo Policy Center

Reports to:                           Head of Ateneo Policy Center

Location:                             SDC Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, Katipunan Ave. Quezon City

 

General Description

The Research and Program Assistant provides overall research and administrative assistance in the planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring projects agreed upon by the center’s management team.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in social sciences, or any related field.
  2. Good analytical skills and a thorough understanding of issues related to the education sector.
  3. Alignment with the vision-mission of the university, particularly in relation to education reform.
  4. Proficiency in graphics presentation and other software used in project implementation is advantageous.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Filipino.
  7. Good organizational skills and the ability to contribute effectively to team research processes.

Scope of Work

The Research and Program Assistant of the center is expected to:

  1. Provide support to the project team in the development of various research outputs, including policy briefs, briefing notes, presentations, empirical papers, and other research materials. This involves conducting literature reviews and analyses, gathering data (which may include developing research instruments, conducting field interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions), as well as analyzing data and writing up findings.
  2. Assist in preparing administrative and logistical requirements for events organized by the program, such as conferences, seminars, and research colloquia.
  3. Aid in the completion of reports and other administrative and financial documents as necessary for project implementation.
  4. Continuously develop and maintain databases, such as partner databases, conference databases, and expert databases, to expand networks and enhance collaboration.
  5. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Ateneo Policy Center Head and authorized representatives that are similar to and related to the aforementioned responsibilities.
