TEDx returns to campus marking the first in-person TEDx event at the university since 2019. Organized by the Ateneo Junior Marketing Association, this event is now known as TEDxAteneo (formerly TEDxADMU) held last June 10th at the Hyundai Hall, Arete.
The event centered around the theme "Breaking Paradigms," which aimed to encourage individuals and societies to critically analyze their deeply ingrained beliefs and perspectives. The goal was to inspire a reassessment of established norms that shape communities and explore their impact on society as a whole. By prompting reflection on prevailing skills, ideas, values, and norms, Breaking Paradigms sought to identify those worth preserving while introducing fresh perspectives that align with the evolving needs and aspirations of our global society. Ultimately, it aimed to foster a more inclusive and forward-thinking world by embracing change and challenging conventional thinking.
TEDxAteneo featured a diverse lineup of speakers and captivating performances. Among the notable speakers were improvisational theater group SPIT MANILA, breakthrough drag performer Naia Black, Ibba Bernardo, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Packworks, globally-certified Neuroscience Coach Ben Ampil, and Xavier Alpasa. The event also included mesmerizing performances from SPIT MANILA, award-winning violinist Elaiza Jem, and up-and-coming indie-pop solo artist Timmy Albert. Hosting the event was Ateneo's very own UAAP correspondent Julia Vargas.
Congratulations to AJMA and the student organizers of TEDxAteneo for the successful staging of the event.
