Graduating JGSOM student part of top 12 teams of X-Culture
26 Jun 2023
A student from Ateneo de Manila University's John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) made it to one of the X-Culture program's best teams for the first half of 2023. Charlize C Quintos (4 BS MGT), part of the graduating class of 2023, was part of Team 175, selected as one of the program's top 12 teams, out of 1,289 teams that joined this past semester.
As part of Team 175, Quintos joined university students from the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, and Colombia. Together, the team was tasked with creating an expansion strategy paper for Formula 6000 Botanicals, an American company specializing in insect- and spider-repellent sprays.
In their report, the team made the following recommendations: targeting Australia as the first country of expansion, re-branding their product to better align with the company's ideals of safety and spider-friendliness, and expanding their sales platforms to include external e-commerce sites–on top of their own–to further their reach.
X-Culture is a large-scale international experiential learning project that aims to connect businesses, business students, teachers, and researchers from around the world. Every semester over 3,500 MBA and business students from 100 universities from 40 countries on six continents join its program.
2023 represents the second time that students from Ateneo de Manila University have joined, with 123 students joining. Ateneo de Manila University is currently the only Philippine university that includes participation in the X-Culture program as part of its courses. This is through LAS 144.7 Cross-Cultural Communication, a 3-unit course under the JGSOM's Leadership and Strategy Department.
