Ateneo de Manila rises in 2024 QS World University Rankings

Ateneo de Manila University is still among the world's top universities according to the 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings released Tuesday, 27 June 2023.
The 2024 QS World University Rankings, released by global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds, sees Ateneo de Manila University place =563rd in the world, and 2nd in Philippines -- the top Filipino private institution.
Ateneo's overall ranking is a marked improvement from the 2023 edition of the rankings, where it placed in the =651-700 bracket.
In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the ranking and to reflect the growth in data availability and changing priorities of students and society at large over the past two decades, QS said that it has "implemented the largest methodological enhancement since its inception" with the introduction of three new metrics: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network, and adjusting the weighting of some existing indicators, namely Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and Faculty-Student Ratio.
These are Ateneo's ranks for each indicator:
- Employment Outcomes: 115
- Employer Reputation: 141
- Academic Reputation: 451
- Faculty-Student Ratio: 533
- Citations per Faculty 701+
- International Faculty: 701+
- International Research Network: 701+
- International Students: 701+
- Sustainability: 701+
"Ateneo's performance in the latest QS World University Rankings is both an honor and a responsibility," said Fr Roberto Yap SJ, University President. "It is an honor because it recognizes our entire University's efforts in teaching, research, and outreach; and it is a responsibility because it tells us that we are in a privileged position to help change our world for the better."

This year's QS World University Rankings features 1,499 institutions across 104 locations, including 5 from the Philippines.
