One Big Hive: The Ateneo Institute of Sustainability launches their citizen design workshop
28 Jul 2023
Take a look at what we can do as One Big Hive!
Last 28 July, 2023, the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability launched a citizen design workshop entitled “One Big Hive.” This activity is the first of many events that aim to engage more community members in the transition to a Laudato Si’ university.
Citizen design is a collaborative and inclusive approach that identifies the concerns and issues of the community and collects diverse ideas for solutions and interventions.
Brilliant thoughts were swarming at the Areté as a diverse set of participants got to brainstorm and envision a better and more sustainable world through their own unique lens. The busy bees shared their own personal values and drew up their ideas onto wooden hexagons, which fit together to create a visual hive of solutions.
This activity was done in collaboration with the Eugenio Lopez Jr Makerspace at the Areté, whose expertise and creativity allowed us to repurpose reclaimed materials sourced on campus for this workshop. This activity was also graciously hosted at the Makerspace!
Thank you for showing us just what the world can bee. One Big Hive! Together, we thrive.
Don’t worry, there will be more hive meetings to follow! Sign up to our mailing list to stay informed of our next events: https://forms.gle/zD4QqL919SBva6DN9
This is one of the many activities in store for the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability’s 10th anniversary celebration. Visit our 10th anniversary page to see what upcoming events you can participate in.
