Ateneo's John Gokongwei School of Management and Boston College's Carroll School of Management form partnership in Jesuit management education

27 Sep 2023

Partnerships for the Goals

In a landmark event, two eminent Jesuit institutions, Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and Boston College in the United States have formalized a partnership aiming to facilitate an enhanced learning pathway for students across borders.

This collaborative partnership creates a roadmap for students to undertake a four-year Bachelor's degree in one of eight generalized management programs at the John Gokongwei School of Management and provides students access to a Master's degree in a one-year specialized management program at the Carroll School of Management. Infused with the Jesuit tradition of excellence and service for others, the combination of these two educational programs brings together the strengths of two prestigious management schools, offering students a well-rounded global educational opportunity designed to mold technically competent, ethical, and forward-thinking leaders.

Students embarking on this journey will first immerse themselves in JGSOM’s management degree programs where they will acquire a robust foundation in business management with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, humanistic management, and Southeast Asian market dynamics. Through an accelerated application process, accepted Ateneo graduates can proceed towards the Carroll School of Management to hone their expertise through either of two specialized Master’s programs: Master of Science in Accounting or the Master of Science in Finance, where the students would be exposed to global technical skills, values formation, and the innovative strategies driving successful enterprises in the Western hemisphere.  Through this collaboration, students will be afforded the unprecedented opportunity to network with industry leaders on a global scale across two complementary degrees, engage in collaborative research initiatives, and gain practical experience in different market landscapes.

Accelerated Application for Admission
The accelerated application program for Boston College is open to all graduating students of the John Gokongwei School of Management, and recent Ateneo de Manila University alumni. For inquiries, at Ateneo de Manila University, please contact the Dean’s Office at dean.jgsom@ateneo.edu. For more information from Boston College, please contact the Admissions Office at https://www.bc.edu/content/bc-web/schools/carroll-school/graduate/admission.html#team.

An online information session by Boston College and Ateneo de Manila University will be organized on 9 November 2023 to provide insights on the program and the application process for entry into the School Year 2024-2025.
