Several faculty members of the School of Humanities, Ateneo de Manila University, are vying for the National Book Awards in various categories
- Glenn Diaz, Yñiga, Best Novel in English
- Allan N. Derain, Pangotra, Best Book of Short Fiction in Filipino
- Vida Cruz-Borja, Song of the Mango and Other New Myths, Best Book of Short Fiction in English
- Rofel G. Brion, Saglit: Alaala't Muni, Best Book of Nonfiction Prose in Filipino
- Christian Jill R. Benitez, Isang Dalumat ng Panahon, Best Book of Literary Criticism/Cultural Studies
- Oscar V. Campomanes (with co-editors Nobutaka Suzuki and Yoshiko Nagano), Colonialism and Modernity: Re-mapping Philippine Histories, Best Book in History
- Karl Castro, Transforming Mindanao, edited by Jowell Canuday and Joselito Sescon, Best Book Design
The National Book Awards are presented annually by the Manila Critics Circle and the National Book Development Board of the Philippines. The 41st National Book Awards will be held in February 2024.
