New Marketing & Law electives for Second Semester, SY 2023-2024

21 Nov 2023

In response to the mission of integral ecology and bridging cultural divides, the Marketing & Law Department of the John Gokongwei School of Management offers five new electives for the second semester of SY2023-2024.

MKTG130

MKTG 130 Political Marketing

The course contributes in bridging the political divides by increasing awareness and understanding of the role of marketing in the political environment, and by arming future Marketers with the knowledge and skills to effect positive change in society. Marketing strategy, research, branding, and the marketing mix are used in achieving political goals and aspirations of political stakeholders in an ethical way.

MKTG131

MKTG 131 Sustainability Marketing

Employing the principles, concepts, strategies and tools of marketing, this course takes an ecological and social orientation in creating, strengthening and maintaining a company's sustainable relationship with its customers, society and nature.

LLAW122

LLAW 122 Laws on Government Agencies and Public Sector Management

By learning about government, and how it exercises its powers and functions, the course prepares students to, not only become future public servants themselves, but also enable them to contribute in solving the country’s great problems and challenges (e.g. public health, climate change, transportation, among others). Understanding government is a step in the right direction, as it can contribute to bridging political divides that separate the government and people from each other.

LLAW123

LLAW 123 Environmental and Sustainability Laws

The laws on environment and sustainability provide the legal framework for ensuring sustainable and integral human development. This course surveys Philippine environmental and sustainability laws, including international treaties acceded to by the Philippines. It introduces the student to procedural laws that can be utilized in being a proactive and responsible stakeholder of the global environment.

LLAW127

LLAW 127 Gender and the Law

This is a survey course on Philippine laws and international agreements related to gender. It raises the awareness on gender-based discrimination and violence. It builds the capacity of students to be proactive advocates of gender equality and respond to situations of abuse, exploitation, and/or harassment in the workplace.
