Areté ‘unboxes’ ten innovative projects at the 2023 Sandbox Open House
05 Dec 2023
From 28 November to 2 December 2023, ten innovative projects were exhibited at the Doreen Black Box Theater, as part of Areté’s Sandbox Open House. Members of the University community as well as the general public got the chance to engage with various innovative projects, whatever stage of development they may be, opening up opportunities for future collaborations.
Exhibited at the open house were projects from both Residency teams as well as Co-Lab partners, respectively, including:
- Ang Gubat ang Guro,
- ArchaeoBot,
- Baligtarin Mo!,
- BEKIS in Gleaning,
- HIER project,
- Jungle Gym,
- Sugat;
and
- Coastal Cities at Risk PH,
- USAID RenewHealth,
- TRACES Asia.
These projects are supported by Areté through the Sandbox Residency and Sandbox Co-Lab programs. The Residency Program offers groups of academics, artists, professionals, and students the financial resources and physical space to interact, exchange ideas, and work on projects that marry their interests towards a common goal, while the Co-Lab program provides a co-working space and additional support to interdisciplinary groups with externally funded projects tackling urgent social and environmental issues.
Every year, Areté opens applications to its Sandbox Residency Program. To learn more, visit arete.ateneo.edu.
