Safe Spaces Module for All: Launch of the Online Module

To further support onsite onboarding and GST sessions, the University Decorum and Investigation System has provided an online module for the use of various schools and offices that are covered by the Code and Rules. University Decorum and Investigation System participates in AJCU-AP Meeting
The UDIS System led by the University Office of Decorum and Investigation, the University Gender Hub and the University Gender and Development Office presented the system at the AJCU-AP meeting in Mirador, Baguio City on 29 August 2023. The presentation at this meeting by the different systems also contributed to the article written for the Promotion Iustitae, a publication of the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat, on the Promotion of a Consistent Culture of Protection. Gender Minor kicks off in the 1st Semester of 2023-24!
The Gender Minor offered by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology has begun accepting students to the program. As of this writing, 9 students have officially enlisted in the Minor program from different Departments and Programs in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Currently offered by the Department this semester is the course on Gender Relations which was taught by Jessica Claudio. The students participated in the recently held Pride Month and Talab program with an event entitled “The Struggle to be Seen: Revealing the Queer in Today’s Art and Visual Culture.” Details of the event may be viewed at https://www.ateneo.edu/news/2023/10/10/ugdo-bulletin-power-pride-advancing-diversity-equity-inclusion-university-spaces.
Workshop on Course Development for Gender-Related Electives
The LS Gender Committee and the University Gender and Development Office, in cooperation with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology held a workshop/discussion on 1 December 2023, with collaborating Departments and Programs as well the LS Gender Committee Members on the experience of teaching Gender electives and the plans moving forward in terms of evaluation, resources, research and outreach. Sharing their experiences were Ms. Jesse Claudio (SOCIO 138.1 Gender Relations) and Ms. Isa Nazareno (Histo 132.03i History of Gender in Asia).
