PAES elects ECCE's Recto as new 2nd vice president

Dr King Harold A Recto, assistant professor of the Department of Electronics, Computer, and Communications Engineering (ECCE) was elected as the new 2nd vice president of the Philippine Association of Engineering Schools (PAES) at its board meeting last 7 December 2023. Dr Recto's representation of the Ateneo de Manila School of Science and Engineering in PAES is also the university's first time to be elected to the PAES board. The university's membership in PAES is a testament to Ateneo's commitment to help level up engineering education in the Philippines and is aligned with the university's aspiration to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all."

Prior to his election as the 2nd vice president, Dr Recto was the secretary of the association. He also co-chaired the Technical Working Group on Excellence and organized the 2023 PAES Teaching Excellence Awards whose final round was hosted by Ateneo de Manila last 20 September 2023.

In the last decade, Dr Recto has been actively involved in PAES by attending and presenting papers on engineering education in the International Conference of Engineering Education (ICEE-Phil), the annual conference organized by PAES whose proceedings are published in the Philippine Journal of Engineering Education and Technology.
