Engr Kevin Facun, Senior Specialist from the IP Academy of IPOPHL, served as the guest speaker for this trademark awareness session. His engaging presentation focused on the importance of branding and trademarks, wherein he discussed the functions of trademarks and the trademark registration process in the Philippines. He also delved into the difference between a trademark and a trade name.  He also discussed the power of symbols, empowering future entrepreneurs with the tools necessary to safeguard their innovations.

This trademark awareness session was a valuable learning experience for the STEP participants. Engr Facun’s insights provided the startups with a deeper understanding of the role trademarks play in safeguarding innovations, building brand recognition, and fostering business growth.

As STEP participants embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, they now have the deeper knowledge and tools to navigate the complex world of trademarks, ensuring that their innovative ideas and creations are protected and poised for success in the ever-evolving business landscape.
