His Eminence Marc Cardinal Ouellet pays courtesy call on Fr Bobby Yap, SJ

His Eminence Marc Cardinal Ouellet, Prefect Emeritus of the Dicastery of Bishops, paid a courtesy call on University President Fr Roberto C Yap, SJ, on 12 February 2024. Cardinal Ouellet was in the country for the 2024 International Conference on the Theology of the Priesthood, co-hosted by Ateneo de Manila University and the University of Santo Tomas.

Cardinal Ouellet first met with Fr Yap in the Office of the President's Boardroom to exchange tokens and take photos before moving to a private meeting at Fr Yap's office.

Following this, Cardinal Ouellet was given a short tour of the Ateneo Art Gallery by its Director and Chief Curator, Ms Ma. Victoria T Herrera. 

In addition to the Gallery's main collections, Cardinal Ouellet was also able to experience Mark Orozco Justinani's "Void of Spectacles" exhibition.

His Eminence Marc Cardinal Ouellet served as prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops from 2010 to 2023. Prior to that, he also served as Archbishop of Quebec and Primate of Canada from 2003 to 2010 and was named Cardinal by Pope John Paul II on 21 October 2023.

The 2024 International Conference on the Theology of the Priesthood is taking place from 13 to 14 February 2024 at the University of Santo Tomas's Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Building.

Cardinal Ouellet is the keynote speaker at the event, where he will deliver an address titled "What is the Future for Priesthood?"
