ASOG hosts lecture-workshop on Risk Management and Public Fiscal Accountability in partnership with AFP

On 29 February 2024, the Ateneo School of Government in partnership with the Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Health Service Command (HSC), for which the School is a member, hosted a lecture workshop on “Risk Management and Public Fiscal Accountability” at the AFPHSC Command Conference Room, Camp Colonel Victoriano Luna, Quezon City.
The lecture workshop aims to provide an overview and discussion of risk management and public fiscal accountability to the different budget and supply officers in the Armed Forces, including the leadership of the HSC.
The lecture workshop commenced with opening remarks from Mr Javier Jimenez, Former Department of Social Welfare Assistant Secretary and currently Academic ASOG Program Head followed by a lecture from Heidi Mendoza, former Audit Commissioner and currently Professor of Praxis, at the Ateneo School of Government. The session focused on the principles of good governance, emphasizing transparency and accountability. Both Ms Mendoza and Mr Jimenez highlighted the crucial role of AFP budget and supply officers as frontline champions of good governance in the AFP.
