Generative AI for survey respondent simulation: BS Management Engineering students’ paper presented at the ICICT 2024
12 Mar 2024 | Joseph Benjamin R Ilagan
Zachary Matthew Alabastro and Claire Louisse Basallo, sophomore students in B.S. Management Engineering (BSME) at Ateneo de Manila University presented a paper at the 9th International Congress on Information and Communication Technology (ICICT) 2024, held virtually in London, United Kingdom, from 19 to 24 February.
The paper, titled “Exploratory customer discovery through simulation using ChatGPT and prompt
engineering“ is part of a series exploring use cases of generative artificial intelligence in management and entrepreneurship. It delves into simulating customer responses using AI. Although associated with Ateneo’s Business Insights Laboratory And Development (BUILD) group within the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM), the presentation underscored their academic pursuit as BSME students. It highlights the renewed focus of the program towards applied AI. The research, receiving guidance from faculty members Joseph Benjamin Ilagan and Jose Ramon Ilagan of the Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology (QMIT), demonstrates the interdisciplinary approach to leveraging AI for business insights.
