Two Ateneo alumni, Kenneth Isaiah Abante (BS Management Engineering ’12, and research faculty from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies), and Stephen Michael Co (BS Biology ’09, Program Awardee) have been selected as recipients of The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) 2023 awards.
“These outstanding individuals have demonstrated unparalleled commitment, innovation, and leadership in their respective fields, embodying the spirit of positive change and progress,” writes TOYM Philippines. “They have not only excelled in their fields but have also embraced innovation with passion, driving positive change in their communities and beyond.”
Abante was most recently recognized by the UP PEJA Fellowship Awards, a fellowship “given to members of the academe, researchers and scholars in the Philippines or abroad ‘who have distinguished themselves in policy research and has shown leadership potential, experience, and most importantly, commitment to service and the improvement of the education sectors.’”
He is also Executive Director of WeSolve Foundation.
Co, who graduated magna cum laude from Ateneo, is co-founder and CEO of WTH Foods, a food tech startup that produces plant-based meat alternative products made sustainably with local ingredients.
Congratulations, Kenneth and Stephen!
