ASHS team is champ and Best Pitch awardee of ‘Breaking Barriers’ hackathon

Representing Ateneo de Manila Senior High School, the team consisting of members Leanne Austria (12-Sullivan), Stephany Boras (12-Walpole), Cole Elizarde (12-Xavier), and Yanni Adoptante (12-Xavier) emerged as senior division champion and Best Pitch awardee of the Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges 2024 hackathon. The team won for its mobile app “Abot Kamay,” which teaches Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and was created in celebration of Women's Month. The app also received the highest points in terms of pitch.
The competition attracted participants from Metro Manila and Cebu City and was sponsored by The Purposeful Mochii and Accenture Philippines. It was held on February 3 & 17, and March 9, 2024 (finals and awarding) at Accenture's office in Uptown Tower 3, Taguig.
The team was guided by ProgVar org moderator Arvin Joseph Villamil.
