Position Title: Training Assistant
Location: Quezon City, Philippines
Department/Office: Executive Education Program

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Ateneo de Manila University, through the Ateneo School of Government (ASOG) seeks to engage a Training Assistant who will form part of the Executive Education Program unit of ASOG.

Ateneo de Manila University – School of Government

The Ateneo School Government (ASOG) is the public-sector arm of Ateneo de Manila University. The School’s long-term mission is to teach and work with practical and ethical public servants. It aims to build prosperous, sustainable, just, and happy communities in the Philippines, empowered by democratic, participatory, transparent, and accountable governance institutions and processes.

As a graduate school for leadership and public service, ASOG's academic and executive ;education programs bridge the gap between classroom wisdom and real-world policy decision-making and governance. Through its research and extension programs, and its work with public, private, and community organizations, ASOG continues to develop and foster innovative ideas and approaches in areas such as leadership, poverty eradication, climate change, social accountability, and politics.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Training Assistant shall be part of the Executive Education Program, the Ateneo School of Government’s training arm, in charge of implementing training and capacity-building development programs that aim to build the capacities of various stakeholders from government, civil society, the private sector, and NGOs on leadership, governance, and public service.

In particular, the Training Assistant is expected to:

  • Assist in mapping out appropriate training methods and learning design;
  • Undertake research work related to competency-needs assessment for developing various modules and courses;
  • Provide assistance to the Executive Education Program team in writing learning development manuals, case studies, reports, and in the preparation of learning materials of the course such as presentations, handouts, and assessments;
  • Provide assistance in developing the course outline, training content, and managing the learning management platforms as necessary;
  • Assist the training team in translating the research work into training cases relevant to the module;
  • Assist the training team to mobilize and manage pool of possible resource persons/experts;
  • Assist the Executive Education Training team in the implementation of unit’s marketing plan, sustainability fund-raising strategy, and to formulate and achieve the Executive Education Program unit revenue targets;
  • Provide assistance in the implementation and monitoring of administrative responsibilities of the unit.
  • Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the project team similar to, and related to the functions enumerated above.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration or related field;
  • A minimum of 1 year work experience in managing projects (or equivalent);
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience working in a team environment, demonstrating agility and adaptability
