Algenio and Lee win gold in Thailand Math Olympiad’s PH round

Competing in the Senior Secondary level, eight Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathletes secured two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals in the Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Heat Round, which was held online on October 22, 2023.
Xavier Algenio (11-Nakaura) and Sasha Lee (11-Bellarmine) grabbed gold, while Lance Abarquez (11-Wright) and Sofio Embalsado III (12-Pro) secured silver. Bagging bronzes were Laurice Bay (11-Wright), Chynna Co (11-Mayer), Vam Vivar (11-Gavan), and Leanne Wang (12-Bobola).



The TIMO is an annual international competition jointly organized by Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) from Hong Kong and the Thailand Mathematics Society. It is designed to stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning mathematics and strengthen their creative thinking.
All TIMO Heat Round medalists were invited to join the TIMO Final Round, which was held onsite in Bangkok, Thailand, and online from April 26-29, 2024.
