Over three days of parallel oral presentations and poster exhibits, the convention participants discussed their current mathematical research in various real-life breakout sessions on five fields: applied mathematics, graph theory and combinatorics, analysis and statistics, algebra and number theory, and mathematics education.

The following Ateneans presented their research on their fields on the following days:

Applied Mathematics

  • Ms Chara Deanna Punzal in her joint work with Dr Giovanni Tapang of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, on the “Topological proximity and effects of preprocessing on the structure of word adjacency and distance networks”
  • Mr Limuel Generoso in their joint work with Mr Neil Cinco, Dr Jeric Briones, Mr Brian Godwin Lim, Mr Jasper John Segismundo and Mr Calvin Sia, on the “Effectiveness of forex loss function-long short term memory (FLF-LSTM) in forecasting United States Dollar-Philippine Peso (USDPHP) exchange rate.
  • Mr Gabriel Rosauro Claravall in their joint work with Mr Carl Dacumos and Ms. Jade Torizo, Dr. Jeric Briones, Jasper John Segismundo, and Calvin Sia, on the “Comparative analysis of stock market sensitivity to exchange, interest, and inflation rates in the Philippines and the United States using quantile regression”
  • Mr Miguel Carlo Yapan in their joint work with Ms Gabrielle Jackie Candano and Dr Clark Kendrick Go, on the “Analysing E-jeep operations in Ateneo de Manila University using Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs.)”
  • Dr Jeric Briones and his joint work with Joshua Olorocisimo of the Graduate school of Science and Technology of the Nara Insitute of Science and Technology on the “Non-parametric approach to analyzing CMOS imaging data for gene expression studies”
