UNITED STATES - A cyberattack on Lurie Children’s Hospital leaked the personal data of nearly 800,000 people earlier this year. The attack began in late January and included Social Security numbers, medical conditions, as well as addresses. NEWS | Cops say millions of OnlyFans paywalls hinder detection of child sex abuse

GLOBAL - OnlyFans' paywalls make it hard for cops to find child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) on the platform, Reuters reported. Police would need to subscribe to each account to monitor it, making it difficult to track new CSAM. OnlyFans claims, though, that CSAM is rare, having removed only 347 posts in 2023 out of 3.2 million accounts. READ MORE

PHILIPPINES - Jollibee Foods Corp is investigating a data breach affecting 11 million customers. A hacker named Sp1d3r listed the stolen database for sale on a dark web forum. One of Asia's largest food retailers, Jollibee has stated that the breach did not disrupt its e-commerce platforms or subsidiaries. It also said it is taking the incident seriously and has launched an investigation. READ MORE

PHILIPPINES - Gcash has assured users that their accounts are safe despite ongoing investigations into a possible data breach. The cybersecurity group, Deep Web Konek, claims the breach could be larger than initially reported. Last week, the group reported that hacker, KryptonZombie, targeted GCash's KYC system, potentially affecting 200,000 users. READ MORE
