Ateneo School of Law receives scholarship endowment from Romulo Mabanta Sayoc and de los Angeles law firm

On 5 August 2024, the law firm of the Romulo Mabanta Sayoc and de los Angeles established two scholarship endowment funds at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. The two scholarship endowment funds were aptly named Professor Jacinto D. Jimenez Scholarship Fund and Dean Eduardo de los Angeles Scholarship Fund. Both Prof Jimenez and Dean de los Angeles were revered faculty members of the Ateneo Law School.

Prof Jimenez, fondly called, “Atty Jack”, served as a faculty member of Ateneo Law from 1970 until 2019. Dean de los Angeles or “Dean Dindo” was a faculty member from 1971 before he became dean from 1984 until 1989. It was during Dean de los Angeles’ tenure that School of Law began offering the Juris Doctor Program, a first of its kind in the Philippines.

Prof Jimenez and Dean de los Angeles studied in the Ateneo from grade school until law school. Both became partners of the Romulo Mabanta Sayoc and de los Angeles law firm.
