Paco Javier wins 1st Prize for both rounds of Big Bay Bei Math Olympiad 2023-2024

Five Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) mathletes won medal awards in the two rounds of the Big Bay Bei (aka Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area) Mathematical Olympiad 2023-2024 held last school year. The BBB competition consists of two rounds, the Philippine Heat Round (HR) and the Final Round (FR). The Heat Round took place online on 3 December 2023 while the Final Round was held online and onsite in Macau on 16 March 2024. Only those contestants who won medal awards (gold, silver, bronze) in the Heat Round were invited to join the Final Round. 


Leading the awardees was Paco Javier (8-Claver), who joined the Secondary 1 division and won first prize (gold) in both the heat round and the final round. 

The complete list of AJHS awardees who won medals in the Heat Round (HR) and Final Round (FR) of BBB 2023-2024 follows, with the boys' sections from SY 2023-2024 indicated in parentheses.

Organized by Hong Kong-based Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) in partnership with Math Olympiads Training League Inc. (MOTLI), Big Bay Bei is an esteemed competition which highlights the importance of creativity and critical thinking in mathematics education and fosters educational exchange and cultural enrichment across different countries in Asia.
