AIPO and Finden Technologies

The Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO), in collaboration with Finden Technologies, Inc., held a transformative three-day Design Thinking Workshop titled "Innovate for Impact" from 21 to 23 October 2024, at Finden Technologies' headquarters in Pasig City. This hands-on workshop aimed to foster innovation and empower Fiden Technologies’ managers and officers with user-centered problem-solving skills.

Fostering Innovation Through Collaboration

Finden Technologies, a leader in premium home entertainment solutions, partnered with AIPO to equip its teams with creative tools to address real-world challenges. Guided by the principles of empathy, teamwork, and innovation, the workshop aligned perfectly with Finden’s core values and commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions for their customers.

Design Thinking in Action

Over the course of three days, participants explored the five phases of Design Thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Through interactive sessions facilitated by AIPO experts, participants learned to:

  • Understand their users' needs and challenges through empathy.

  • Define clear, actionable problem statements.

  • Brainstorm creative solutions using ideation techniques.

  • Create and refine prototypes for potential implementation.

Highlights and Outcomes

Day 1: Understanding the User

The workshop began by introducing participants to the power of empathy in design thinking. Through dynamic group activities, teams mapped their ecosystem of stakeholders and identified areas for improvement. This user-focused approach encouraged participants to view problems through a human-centric lens.

Day 2: Ideating Solutions

Participants transformed challenges into opportunities by crafting “How Might We” (HMW) statements, sparking innovative thinking. Teams explored bold and creative ideas to address specific pain points, ensuring solutions were both practical and impactful.

Day 3: Prototyping and Feedback

On the final day, teams brought their ideas to life by creating tangible prototypes. Feedback sessions encouraged collaboration and refinement, enabling participants to align their solutions with user needs and organizational goals

Impact and Next Steps

The workshop demonstrated the value of design thinking as a structured yet flexible methodology for tackling complex challenges. Participants left with enhanced problem-solving skills, creative confidence, and a renewed commitment to innovation.

AIPO and Finden Technologies look forward to seeing the practical application of these ideas and their impact on enhancing user experiences. The collaboration highlights the importance of fostering creativity and innovation in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.
