Andres Saminal places 2nd in GEMA Int'l Student Speaker Competition

Last school year, Ateneo de Manila Grade School students Andres Saminal (then in K-Kanaryo), Miggy Ilumin (then in 4-Dagohoy), and Pio Prieto (then in 3-Matutum) joined the GEMA International Student Speaker Competition by submitting their video entries online by the 16 March 2024 deadline. In May 2024, they were announced as winners! Andres emerged as the 2^nd place winner of the Below Grade 1 Category, while both Miggy and Pio were named among the winners of the “Inspiring and Outstanding Video” category. (Andres, Miggy, and Pio are now in 1-Malusog, 5-Ifugao, and 4-Diego Silang, respectively.)

The GEMA International Student Speaker Competition is an all-virtual event that celebrates young people’s voices through a world-class competition which aims to evolve the communication skills among students, the world’s future leaders. The initiative is envisioned to identify young, powerful communicators and leaders who can communicate their thoughts to inspire the youth and peers in their community.
