The 12 Days of ChristmASMPH: Rekindling holiday traditions

24 Dec 2024 | ASMPH Student Council

The Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health recently celebrated the conclusion of its first semester with the festive event #12DaysofChristmASMPH, spreading joy and cheer throughout the community. This year marked a special milestone as it was the first time since the pandemic that such an extensive celebration of Christmas was held, bringing back a sense of togetherness and festivity.

The celebration began with Day 1: "Ningning", where the ASMPH community brightened up the Christmas tree with dazzling smiles and merry poses. Participants shared their holiday spirit, setting a joyful tone for the festivities.

Day 2 featured the "Sari-Sari Sparkle: Parol Making Contest", where each batch showcased their creativity and unity by crafting and lighting up unique lanterns, symbolizing the collective spirit of Christmas at ASMPH.

On Day 3, the Blue Stars Donation Drive invited the community to give back by contributing gifts for the dedicated staff members who make daily life at ASMPH smoother and more enjoyable.

Day 4 brought the "Holly Jolly Quizmas", a trivia night hosted by Pugad Agila in collaboration with the Student Wellness Team. Participants enjoyed a lively evening of fun and challenging questions about Christmas and culture, spreading laughter and camaraderie.

Day 5 saw the "Maligayang Pulse-ko: Dash Through the Holiday Cheer", an exciting 3-km Christmas-themed fundraiser organized by the ASMPH Athletics Council. Participants ran through Ortigas Park, raising funds to brighten the holidays for the hardworking support staff.

Days 6 and 7 introduced "Halo-halo: Online Raffle Day 1 and Day 2," hosted by the ASMPH Surgical Society. The raffles added a touch of excitement to the celebrations, with participants eagerly awaiting their chances to win.

On Day 8, "Tala Para sa Tala" highlighted the efforts of the External Affairs Council and Public Health Council, who distributed heartfelt letters to the campus staff. These messages of gratitude and appreciation warmed the hearts of the recipients and celebrated their contributions to the ASMPH community.

Day 9 featured "VOXmas Saya", a musical event organized by the Student Wellness Team that filled the campus with festive tunes and holiday cheer.

On Day 10, "Pasko Na, Game Na!" transformed the cafeteria into a lively hub of parlor games, prizes, cookies, tarot readings, and even free ice cream. The Student Wellness Team created a festive atmosphere that brought smiles to everyone in attendance.

On Day 11, "Tala Para sa Tala" continued as a letter-writing booth reopened, allowing students to share last-minute heartwarming messages with the staff. This touching gesture emphasized the spirit of appreciation and giving.

The grand finale, Day 12: "Sari-sari Sparkle Awarding and Grand Pakain," concluded the celebrations with an awarding ceremony and a communal feast. The batch with the most sparkling lantern, Batch 2028, was awarded a prize of ₱10,000, capping off the event with joy and excitement.
