Math major freshie wins silver in Philippine Statistics Quiz National Finals

Benjamin L Jacob (1 BS AMDSc) won 2nd place in the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz National Finals, which was held last 5 December 2024 at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Headquarters, PSA Complex, East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
The National Finals gathered the regional champions from each of the 17 regions of the country. As the winner of the Regional Championship last 8 November 2024, Mr Jacob earned the right to represent the National Capital Region.
Benjamin was mentored by his coach, Dr Christian Paul O Chan Shio.
The top 5 were composed of Genesis Haylan Mendoza (5th place, Region IV-A), Resh Garcia (3rd place, Region VI), Jullian Christopher Ilaya (National Champion, Region V), Mr Jacob, and Ma. Crista Nina Ariosa (4th place, Region VII).
Mr Jacob follows up a rich history of wins by Ateneo on the National PSQ.
