Ateneo-Pathways shares best practices in mentoring and student care with Bukidnon State University

On 16 October 2024, members of the Bukidnon State University’s Academic Mentoring Unit (BukSU AMU) met with Ateneo - Pathways to Higher Education to learn and explore ways BukSU can potentially replicate aspects of the latter’s interventions for their own newly established Academic Mentoring Unit.

The BukSU AMU team shared their goal to establish a unit that will aid students as they adapt to college life. As we learned more about how they aim to meet the unique needs of their students, we took the time to share how we help students successfully transition from senior high school to college. Aside from this, we also talked about how we are fortunate to have a community composed of volunteers and alumni who have joined us as mentors in accompanying students as they navigate planning their future.

More than anything else, we underscored the importance of nurturing a culture of care that will become an investment for the next generation of students. We look forward to seeing the fruits of BukSU AMU’s model of student care!
