UKRAINE – Children are unwittingly being recruited by Russians to perform reconnaissance and sabotage against their country amid the ongoing war. The trickery is done under the guise of “quest games” where the children are given tasks to complete and then asked to relay information via an anonymous chat room, which are then used later to carry out more accurate attacks. PHILIPPINES – PLDT Inc. and its subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. reportedly blocked 1.6 million sites and online content linked to online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) since June 2021.
