TakBLUEhan 12: a fun run for everyone!

28 Jan 2025

Held on Sunday, 26 January 2025, TakBLUEhan 12 wasn’t just another school event; it was a run for a cause. With the largest number of registered runners to date, this year's fun run proved just how powerful the Ateneo community can be when its members come together for a cause.

The program kicked off with a good vibe as emcees Mr Joseph Delos Reyes, Mr Christian Chua-Lim, and Master Ethan Alferez (AGSCOM President) took to the stage to rally the crowd. Headmaster Mr Robles followed with an inspiring opening message, setting the tone for a day filled with purpose.

The excitement only grew as our vibrant new AGS teachers for SY 2024-2025 led the crowd in an energizer to shake off the morning chill. Even with a slight drizzle, the spirit of the runners was unstoppable! “Safety first” was the reminder from the race director, Coach Igor Quodala, just before the runners lined up.

At 6:00 am sharp, the 4.5 km runners surged forward. Five minutes later, the 3 km runners followed, and soon after, the 1.5 km participants hit the track. The day didn’t end at the finish line. The awarding ceremonies celebrated the champions of each category, but the true winners were all those who showed up to support the cause.

The event culminated in a Sunday Mass, a fitting close to a day full of blessings that was equal parts sweat, joy, and shared purpose. This incredible day wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of so many, including Ms Ayeth Pacle, Office of Student Affairs Head; Mrs Jenny Salvana, Faculty Development Head; Mr Sean Alli, Athletics Coordinator; our student leaders, and AGSCOM moderators. They all handled every detail with heart and precision. A special shoutout also goes to our volunteer teachers, staff, custodians, guards, and of course, our generous sponsors.

TakBLUEhan 12 wasn’t just a run, it was a movement, as stated by our Headmaster, Mr Jervy Robles, in his speech. The funds raised will fuel student government advocacies and outreach projects, ensuring that the spirit of the community stays alive. In every step, in every cheer, in every drop of sweat, TakBLUEhan 12 proved that together, we truly run for everyone!
