With the theme “Submerged,” the competition challenged participating teams to “use creative thinking and LEGO® technology to explore the layers of the ocean and bring their learnings and ideas to the surface as they ‘sea’ into the future.” The competition had two main components, the Innovation Project and the Robot Game. For the Innovation Project, teams researched a real-world problem and proposed a creative solution. In the Robot Game, teams designed and programmed a LEGO robot to complete themed missions on a game field. Both challenges promoted teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity.
