Sian Trasmontero is Overall Best Speaker and Finals Best Speaker of Diliman Novice BP debate

The team composed of Ateneo de Manila Senior High School (ASHS) debaters Sian Trasmontero (12-Kibe) & Yanny Valera (12-Grodecky) emerged as the 2nd Ranked Open Team and Grand Finalist of the Diliman Novice British Parliamentary (DNBP) held in June 2024. Individually, Sian Trasmontero was crowned Overall Best Speaker and Finals Best Speaker while Yanny Valera, Rafael Carasig (12-Grodecky), Daniel Hinkle (12-Holland), Alexa Linaza (12-Solinas), and Daniel Park (11-Torres) were all named 4th Best Speaker.
The DNBP 2024 was a competitive novice British Parliamentary debate tournament held online on 29 June 2024 and attended by over 50 debaters from all over the Philippines. It was judged by some of the country's best adjudicators and was highly intensive, with only four teams proceeding to the finals. The ASHS Debaters contingent dominated the debate, with six out of 10 Best Speaker awardees coming from our institution.
