ASHS debater Leah Joy Rivera & partner are Indo-Pacific Am-Am champs and Finals Best Speakers

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School debater Leah Joy Rivera (12-Beyzym) & her teammate from Philippine Science High School ranked 1st in the amateur-amateur (Am-Am) category and took home the Am-Am Championship in the Indo-Pacific Pro-Am 2024 (IPPA). In addition, Leah Joy & her teammate also shared the Finals Best Speaker Award in the amateur-amateur (am-am) division.
Held online on 20-21 July 2025, the IPPA 2024 was a large and highly competitive British Parliamentary debate tournament attended by various high school and collegiate debaters from all over Asia. The break was extremely intensive, with only 8 teams advancing to the Am-Am finals out of more than 50 teams.
