The session featured Atty Exequiel Valerio, Attorney IV at the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights, Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). With his extensive expertise in copyright law, Atty Valerio provided valuable insights into the key aspects of copyright protection. His discussion covered fundamental concepts such as the term of protection, requisites of copyrightability, categories of copyrighted works, and the rules of copyright ownership. He also addressed important topics such as unprotected subject matter, copyright infringement, and the fair use doctrine, offering practical examples to illustrate their real-world applications.
