Ateneo de Manila University Officials Attend the 7th Ateneo Alumni Association of North America (AAANA) Convention

The 7th Ateneo Alumni Association of North America (AAANA) Convention was held from 27-29 March 2025, at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was hosted by the Ateneans of Las Vegas (AOLV), who also organized the 2012 and 2016 conferences.

On the first day, Ateneo alumni were able to connect and network with one another for fellowship, gather as 1975 Golden Jubilarians from all Ateneo schools, and attend individual school class reunions. Plenary sessions were held on the second day, following a welcome address by Dr Rodrigo Farrales Jr, President of AOLV.  Topics covered include ‘Living the Ignatian Way’, and ‘What is going on now in our country and the world?’. The AAANA presentations and the election of new officers followed. The Philippine Ateneo presidents’ presentations and Gala Night took place on the final day of the convention.

Representing University President Fr Roberto Yap SJ, Fr Norberto Bautista SJ, Director of the Office of University Development & Alumni Affairs (OUDAA), introduced the Lux In Domino Strategic Plan for Ateneo de Manila University 2021-2030, which includes four strategic priority areas: education reform and transformation, universal health and well-being, integral ecology, and bridging cultural divides. He also shared plans on how it will be implemented and achieved at the University.

To quote Fr Roberto Yap’s message at the 7th AAANA Convention souvenir program: “Though you are far away, we are bonded in our Ateneo roots and traditions. We are always grateful for your unwavering commitment to our Ignatian values and continuous efforts to use your gifts, talents, and graces for the greater good. Thank you for remaining faithful to the ideals of St Ignatius Loyola, embodying faith, competence, conscience, and commitment.”

Indeed the University is grateful to Ateneo alumni for their enduring connection with Ateneo, despite geographical distance.
