Ateneo to host Laudato Si Summit and Festival, 4 to 6 September 2025

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Ateneo de Manila University, together with Caritas Philippines, Living Laudato Si’ Philippines, the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) will be hosting a Laudato Si Summit with the theme, "Wellsprings of Hope in Schools and the Church for our Common Home," from 4 to 5 September 2025 at the Leong Hall Auditorium, Loyola Heights campus, Ateneo de Manila University. This will be followed by a Laudato Si Festival on 6 September 2025 at various sites and at the Loyola Heights campus of Ateneo de Manila University.

The summit anticipates the participation of over 400 educators, students, as well as members of church organizations and parishes from all over the Philippines. It will serve as a platform to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the landmark document and to share practices in living out the message of Laudato Si’.

School and church representatives, as well as other interested parties, are invited to join the Summit and Festival. This gathering will provide a valuable opportunity to collaborate with fellow school administrators, educators, and church partners in integrating the principles of Laudato Si’ into various institutions and ministries.

The summit will take place from 4 to 5 September 2025, followed by the Laudato Si’ Festival on 6 September 2025.

Laudato Si Summit (4 and 5 September)

  • Keynote address from CBCP: Commemorating 10 years of Laudato Si and Current Directions of the Catholic Church
  • Laudato Si Schools Framework
  • Survey Results on Ecological Initiatives of Schools and the Church
  • Initiatives for Ecological Conversion
  • Breakout Sessions on Stewardship, Spirituality, Research and Advocacy: Greening Finance, Purchasing, and Operations;  Ecological Spirituality; and Research, Advocacy, and Community Engagement
  • Breakout Sessions on Sources of Hope and Challenges in Ecological Education 

Laudato Si’ Festival (6 September) 
During the Laudato Si Festival, there will be a menu of activities that will be made available. These activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Biodiversity and Ecological Tour
    • Tour of School Campuses with Sustainability Efforts
    • Ateneo de Manila Biodiversity Tour
    • Mt Purro Nature Reserve Eco-Spirituality Tour (with additional fee)
    • Empowered Community for the Forest 2.0 Project-Mamuyao /Sto. Nino Tanay, Rizal (with additional fee)
    • Masungi Georeserve Legacy Trail (with additional fee)
    • Laudato Si’ Farm (with additional fee)
  • Eco-Spiritual Recollection/s
  • Session/s on advocacies on integral ecology

Registration Dates:
Early Bird Registration: 07 July to 01 August 2025
Regular Registration: 04 to 29 August 2025

Registration Fees:
Summit Fee (4 and 5 September 2025): Php 3,000. Includes access to all plenary and parallel sessions, plus AM/PM snacks and lunch for both days.
Discounted Fee for CEAP and SDSN Member Institutions/ Organizations: Php 2,500
Regular Rate (after Early Bird): P3,450
Regular Rate (after Early Bird) for CEAP and SDSN Member Institutions/ Organizations: P2,950.
