At the 2025 World Congress of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), the Ateneo School of Government (ASOG), through the Ateneo Policy Center’s (APC) Inclusive Democracy Portfolio, presented two research projects that looked at Filipinos' outlook on democracy.
The IPSA is a global scholarly association founded in 1949 with more than 60 national and regional political science associations as members, and over 50 specialized research committees. The 2025 World Congress, under the theme ‘“Resisting Autocratization in Polarized Societies’, was held last 12-16 July 2025 at Seoul, South Korea.
During the World Congress, ASOG presented the following research projects:
-
“Philippine Observatory on Democracy: Interrogating Attitudes, Behaviors, and Practices of Democracy” — presented by Former ASOG Dean Dr Randy Tuano and APC Research Assistant and Project Coordinator Misha Segarra
-
“Neither Democrats nor Authoritarians? Clustering Philippine Youth Political Attitudes in the Time of Democratic Backsliding” — presented by APC Senior Research Fellow Dr Imelda B Deinla and Research Associate and Program Coordinator Gaby Mendoza

These studies contribute to the Center’s participation in evidence-based discourse for the country’s long-term goal of democratic development. Learn more about the research projects of the Ateneo Policy Center at its official website.
