The Company of Ateneo Dancers (CADs) proudly represented the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University at the 2025 World of Dance (WOD) Summit, securing 5th place overall in the competition’s Finals Round held from 16 to 21 July 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA.
With over 83 teams from around the world competing across junior and open divisions, CADs stood out in the Open Division, where they initially placed 7th to qualify for the Final Round, ultimately rising to 5th place overall among all participating teams.
The team, composed of 27 student artists, prepared intensively for just a month leading up to the competition. Under the guidance of Jesse “Reflex” Gotangco, their coach and choreographer, CADs presented an emotionally charged and artistically driven piece that resonated with both audiences and judges alike.
The journey was made possible with the steadfast support of the CADs community, families, and friends who rallied behind the team every step of the way. This achievement marks a significant milestone for CADs on the global dance stage and reflects their commitment to excellence, creativity, and community.
The World of Dance Summit is an international gathering of top dance talents and teams, culminating in a multi-round competition that celebrates the full spectrum of creative movement. Held annually, it features elite-level performances, masterclasses, and electrifying all-style battles that bring together the world’s best dancers in one unforgettable celebration of art and movement.
CADs’ success at WOD 2025 is a testament to the dedication and artistry of Filipino dancers, and a proud moment for Ateneo and the broader Philippine dance community.
