Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School student Kal-el Manalo (8-Del Castillo) proudly brought home three awards from the IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) Action Air II World Shoot 2025, held at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City from July 30 to August 3, 2025. Kal-el earned a Bronze Medal in the Air Production Super Junior Category, a Special Recognition Award in the Team Air Production Junior Category as a member of Team Philippines, and a third medal awarded by the IPSC for his overall performance.
This prestigious international event brought together over 400 elite competitors from more than 20 countries, making it the largest Action Air competition since the inaugural World Shoot in 2018. Participants faced challenging stages designed to test accuracy, speed, and agility using scaled-down Action Air equipment and reactive targets that fall when hit.
Kal-el’s outstanding performance is a testament to his discipline, skill, and dedication, bringing pride not only to our school but also to the nation. His achievements serve as a powerful inspiration to young athletes aspiring to represent the Philippines on the global stage.
The event was organized by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) in cooperation with the IPSC, to promote the values of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and international cooperation through sport.
