Presenting "Back to the Bluebook," a two-day lecture series feat. Fr Ben Nebres SJ, Fr Jett Villarin SJ, Dr Sev Sarmenta, and Dr Rica Bolipata-Santos

02 Sep 2025

This September, the Office of Admission and Aid warmly invites Ateneo alumni scholars to return to the halls of learning and take part in "Back to the Bluebook," a two-day lecture series leading to the Grand Alumni Scholars Homecoming 2025.

The lecture series will be held at Escaler Hall and offers a rare opportunity to once again learn from some of Ateneo’s most esteemed professors and leaders. Through these sessions, alumni scholars are invited to relive the experience of sitting in the classroom while engaging with mentors whose wisdom and expertise have shaped generations of Ateneans.

The series will feature four distinguished speakers: two Jesuit leaders and former University Presidents whose contributions to education, science, and nation-building continue to inspire, and two accomplished faculty members whose work in the fields of communication and the arts exemplify Ateneo’s commitment to excellence.

To make the experience even more special, the first 150 participants to arrive at the Escaler Hall will be treated to complimentary coffee and donuts as they reconnect with fellow alumni scholars. Registration will open one hour before each lecture.

The lectures will be as follows:

13 September 2025

  • 1:00 pm - "After 70: Memories and Life Lessons from Journeying with our People in the Peripheries of our Land" by Fr Bienvenido Nebres SJ
  • 3:00pm - "Crossings on Our Pilgrim Way" by Fr Jose Ramon Villarin SJ

27 September 2025

  • 10:00 am (TBA) Dr Severino Sarmenta
  • 1:00 am (TBA) Dr Rica Bolipata-Santos

Alumni scholars may confirm their attendance by scanning the QR code in the announcement below or through this link: https://go.ateneo.edu/AteneoBackToBlueBook
