AGS mathletes win 102 medals at PhIMO Heat Round 2025

Representing Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS), 102 mathletes earned an impressive total of 15 gold, 35 silver, and 52 bronze medals in the Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO) Heat Round 2025, held online on 6 April 2025.

Those who competed in the Primary 3 division were coached by Mrs. Rachelle Anne Suba. Primary 4 division participants were mentored by Mrs. Marie Guevara, Mr. Patrick Ablang, Mrs. Rose De Jesus, and Mrs. Girlie Salvador. For the Primary 5 division, coaching support was provided by Mrs. Guada Barcelon and Mrs. Rose Perfecto. Last but not least, the Primary 6 division mathletes were trained by Mr. Javy Inumerable and Mr. Omar Ajon.
PhIMO is recognized as the newest and most sophisticated international mathematics competition for students from kindergarten to Grade 12. It aims to celebrate and honor the world’s top mathematical problem-solvers through friendly yet challenging competition, while also fostering cultural exchange among participating countries.
The PhIMO Final Round 2025 is scheduled to take place on 19–22 September 2025 in Cebu. The exam will be held online and onsite at the Cebu Institute of Technology – University Atrium on 20 September, while the Awards Ceremony will be held on 21 September at JPark Island Resort & Waterpark in Lapu Lapu City. As in previous years, mathletes/delegates from countries and territories like Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam are also expected to participate.
