Three ASHS mathletes strike gold at PhIMO Heat Round 2025

Representing Ateneo de Manila, eleven past and present Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) mathletes brought home a total of three gold, five silver, and three bronze medals at the Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO) Heat Round 2025, held online on 6 April 2025.
Below are the medalists, listed with their current Ateneo sections (unless otherwise indicated), along with the category in which they competed:
GOLD
• Sam Dionisio (12-Anchieta) – Senior Secondary
• Aegean Nakila (11-Mayer) – Junior Secondary
• Jam Vejerano (12-Solinas) – Senior Secondary

SILVER
• Nathan Ballatan (11-Torres) – Junior Secondary
• Mikaella Duran (12-Pro, Batch 2025) – Senior Secondary
• Kit Ieng Lee (12-Pro, Batch 2025) – Senior Secondary
• Margaux Lorenzo (12-Pantalia) – Senior Secondary
• Rach Tatel (12-Arnaiz) – Senior Secondary

BRONZE
• Sean Alvarado (11-Tsuji) – Junior Secondary
• Joaquin Jobog (11-Perez) – Junior Secondary
• Fonsy Mujar (12-Pro) – Senior Secondary

The Philippine International Mathematical Olympiad (PhIMO) is one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. It aims to both challenge and celebrate young mathematical talent from around the world, while promoting cultural exchange through friendly competition.
The PhIMO Final Round 2025 is set for 19–22 September 2025 in Cebu. The examination will be held on 20 September, both online and on-site at the Cebu Institute of Technology – University Atrium, followed by the Awards Ceremony on 21 September at JPark Island Resort & Waterpark in Lapu-Lapu City.
As in previous years, participants from various countries and territories—including Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam—are expected to take part.
