3 ASHS mathletes shine with double golds in Big Bay Bei Math Olympiad 2024-2025

Representing the Ateneo de Manila Junior and Senior High Schools, nine past and current ASHS students excelled in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Big Bay Bei or BBB) Mathematical Olympiad – Heat Round (HR), held online on December 1, 2024. Competing in the Senior Secondary Group division, the young mathletes brought home a total of seven gold and two silver medals.
Of these participants, five advanced to the BBB Mathematical Olympiad – Final Round (FR), conducted online on March 15, 2025, where they continued to demonstrate excellence by earning three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
Leading the medalists were Sam Dionisio, Leah Joy Rivera, and Jam Vejerano, who each achieved gold (1st prize) medals in both the Heat and Final Rounds—a remarkable display of consistency and skill.

Organized by the Hong Kong-based Olympiad Champion Education Centre (OCEC) in partnership with the Math Olympiads Training League Inc. (MOTLI), the Big Bay Bei (BBB) Mathematical Olympiad is an esteemed international competition that promotes creativity and critical thinking in mathematics education while fostering educational exchange and cultural enrichment across Asia and beyond.
The 2025 Final Round brought together young math enthusiasts from Australia, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Shenzhen (China)—highlighting the event’s growing global reach and spirit of collaboration.
