4 AGS mathletes shine with double golds in Big Bay Bei Math Olympiad 2024-2025
29 Oct 2025
Representing the Ateneo de Manila Grade School, 95 students excelled in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Big Bay Bei or BBB) Mathematical Olympiad – Heat Round (HR), held online on December 1, 2024. Competing in their respective Primary Division categories, the young mathletes earned a total of 13 gold, 31 silver, and 51 bronze medals.
Of these participants, 64 students advanced to the BBB Mathematical Olympiad – Final Round (FR), conducted online on March 15, 2025, where they continued to demonstrate excellence by winning 5 gold, 12 silver, 44 bronze medals, and 3 merit awards.
Leading all the medalists were Martin Abesamis, Vico Babaran, Luc Lopez, and Shun Sato, who each earned gold (1st prize) medals in both the Heat and Final Rounds—a remarkable display of consistency and skill. Notably, Vico Babaran’s double-gold performance in the BBB 2024–2025 Olympiad marks a back-to-back achievement, as he also captured gold medals in both rounds of the BBB 2023–2024 competition.
