Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) student Zian Principe (7-Alfonso) delivered an outstanding performance at the “Please Don’t Flip Katipunan 2025” speedcubing competition held on 19 October 2025 at the Walter Hogan Hall, ISO Complex, Ateneo de Manila University. Competing in the Clock event—the main event of the competition—Zian secured an impressive 1st runner-up (silver) finish with an average time of 4.31 seconds, demonstrating focus, discipline, and competitive excellence.
Despite balancing schoolwork and limited practice time, Zian’s strong performance highlighted his commitment to continuous improvement and his passion for the sport.
Also competing—and serving alongside him as one of the event’s organizers—was his younger brother, Zoei Principe of AGS 6-Faber, who won 2nd runner-up (bronze) in the same Clock event. Together, the Principe brothers showcased both their skill and leadership, contributing to the successful execution of the event while representing Ateneo with pride.
The competition gathered 46 participants and featured multiple official World Cube Association (WCA) events, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and joyful competition among young speedcubers.
