25 Nov 2025
Representing the Ateneo de Manila Grade School, Rico Tugas (6-Hurtado) earned a Bronze Award in the Preliminary Round- Scratch of the International Environmental Coding Competition (IECC) 2025, which was held online and onsite in Singapore on 28 October 2025. He was coached in this prestigious international event by Mrs. Rozelle Sanchez.
Organized by Marshall Cavendish Education in collaboration with Koding Next, the IECC 2025 is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to inspire young learners to develop innovative coding solutions that address environmental challenges and promote global sustainability.
Aside from Tugas, the AGS was also represented in the preliminary round by Rafa Lim (6-De Brito), who, like Master Tugas, is a member of the AGS Coding Varsity Team under the mentorship of Mrs. Rozelle Sanchez and Mrs. Soki Dula. This milestone marks the first time AGS has joined this international coding competition, showcasing the exceptional talent, creativity, and problem-solving skills of our young Ateneans.
The entire AGS community celebrates this remarkable achievement and extends heartfelt congratulations to our coding varsity team for bringing honor and pride to our school. Their success is a testament to the growing excellence and innovation in Ateneo Grade School’s technology and coding programs.
