[UGDO Bulletin] Campaign to End SGBV - Making All Spaces Safe for All: Continuing University Efforts to End Sexual and Gender-Based Violence
05 Nov 2025 | University Gender and Development Office
Ateneo de Manila University affirms its commitment to Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) through observance of the 18-day Campaign to End SGBV led by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), which leads the nationwide advocacy campaign to end all forms of violence against women and all genders. The PCW’s recurring theme, “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines,” highlights the transformative power of collective and coordinated action in addressing SGBV. Aligned with the global initiative of UN Women, the campaign reinforces the message that lasting change requires a concerted effort across all sectors of society.
The University theme for this year upholds the commitments made through the University Code of Decorum and Administrative Rules on Sexual Harassment, Other Forms of Sexual Misconduct, and Inappropriate Behavior (Code and Rules), the Higher Education Policy Statement on Building a Gender Inclusive, Gender Responsive, and Gender Safe Community, Republic Act 11313: Safe Spaces Act, Republic Act 7877: Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, and Republic Act 9710: The Magna Carta of Women.
Interested parties may contact the organizations, offices, and units directly for more details, as the events may still be updated and finalized. More exciting events may also be added to the calendar! Please refer to www.ateneo.edu/central/gender/ugdo/bulletins for regular updates.
