CGSC welcomes new graduate students with Loyola Heights campus tour
05 Mar 2026
On 7 February 2026, the Committee on Graduate Student Concerns (CGSC) hosted a campus tour for new graduate students of RGLSOSS, SOH, GBSEALD, JGSOM, and SOSE.
This student-led initiative aims to provide an opportunity for new graduate students to explore the Loyola Heights campus and meet other graduate students beyond their schools and departments. As many graduate students balance their studies with professional careers, the campus tour is a rare opportunity for them to engage with the wider campus community.
New graduate students were also introduced to key offices, including the Office of the University Registrar, the Office of Health Services, and the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Graduate Education. They also made stops at their respective Dean’s offices and departments.
A highlight of the day was a tour of both the Old and New Rizal Library, led by Graduate Student Librarian Mr. Edzel Santos. As research is a cornerstone of graduate education, the library tour ensured that students felt confident navigating the resources to support their academic journey.
In addition to the campus tour, students also attended the online orientation for new graduate students. Held at the start of the semester, this session introduces important academic policies, support services, and the research ecosystem of Ateneo de Manila University. These onboarding initiatives aim to provide new students with the support they need to easily transition into graduate school.
The Committee on Graduate Student Concerns (CGSC) represents graduate student interests in the policy-making and administration of Higher Education. It consists of student representatives from each department.
The campus tour is one of several initiatives launched by the CGSC for SY 2025-2026, alongside the Writing Support Group and the Graduate Students’ Gathering. Through these events, the CGSC aims to build a stronger and more supportive graduate student community.
