Ateneo BUILD Center announces Board of Advisors and Director

The Ateneo Business Insights Laboratory for Development (BUILD) Center is pleased to announce key leadership appointments approved by Dr Maria Luz C Vilches, Vice President for Higher Education. 

Board of Advisors

The newly appointed Board of Advisors for the Ateneo BUILD Center comprises professionals with a wealth of experience and expertise to support the center's mission and initiatives.

The Board of Advisors consists of the following members:

  1. Roberto Martin N Galang, PhD, (Ex-officio) Dean, John Gokongwei School of Management
  2. Joselito C Olpoc (Ex-officio) Chair, Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology
  3. Maria Mercedes T Rodrigo, PhD, Professor, Department of Information Systems and Computer Science Head, Ateneo Laboratory for the Learning Sciences
  4. Andres J Montiel Chief Data Officer, The Pack Solutions, Inc Part-Time Lecturer, Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology
  5. Michelle S Alarcon, President, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Association of the Philippines (AAP) President, Z-Lift Solutions, Inc.
  6. Dominic Vincent Ligot Founder, CEO & CTO, Cirrolytix

The Board of Advisors will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Ateneo BUILD Center, leveraging their diverse backgrounds in academia, industry, and technology to support the center's initiatives and foster innovation.

Center Goals and Director Appointment

BUILD serves as the research arm of the Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology (QMIT) at the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM), Ateneo de Manila University. Leveraging expertise from the entire university, BUILD is uniquely positioned to provide external stakeholders with rigorous research for data-driven decision-making across various domains, including business, psychology, education, health, economics, and computer science.

Joseph Benjamin R Ilagan has been appointed Director of the Ateneo BUILD Center to lead these initiatives. Mr. Ilagan, who currently serves as the Program Director of the BS Information Technology Entrepreneurship Program, brings valuable experience and insights to his new role at BUILD.

With this new leadership in place, the Ateneo BUILD Center aims to further its mission in education. Through engagements with industry partners, BUILD will continue to focus on enhancing research, curriculum development, faculty development, and student enterprise empowerment.
