Castro & Serrano are HS Grand Finalists of Luzon Intervarsity Debate 2025

Three of the four participating Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) debate teams delivered strong performances at the Luzon Intervarsity (LIV) 2025, organized by The Parliament of the University of the Philippines Los Baños from 18 to 19 October 2025. 

Among the standout performers were Benj Castro (10-Realino) & Adi Serrano (10-Sitjar), who achieved a podium finish after emerging as Regional High School Finalists or Grand Finalists in the High School Category. 

Meanwhile, the teams composed of Felix Saludar (10-Pongracz) & Thirdy Santiago (10-Sitjar), and Luigi Lastimosa (10-Spinola) & Pepe Calo (10-Southwell) advanced as Regional Novice Semifinalists in the Novice Category. In addition, Felix Saludar and Thirdy Santiago earned recognition for their individual performances, ranking as the 5th and 6th Best Speakers in the High School Category, respectively. 

The AJHS debaters were coached by Ms Claire Denise Ramirez and Ms Leah Joy Rivera, who guided them throughout their preparation and competition journey. 

LIV 2025 followed the British Parliamentary debate format and featured 53 teams from 18 institutions, including both high school and college participants.
